Bay Village First to go Solar, Makes History Again!

Bay Village, one of the first Public Housing developments in the country, has made history once again. Located in New Bedford, Massachusetts, this development has become the first in the nation to install solar paneling in order to generate its own renewable, affordable energy- guaranteeing a long term energy solution for future.

The New Bedford Housing Authority, led by its Executive Director, Steven A. Beauregard, and its Chairman of the Board, Bruce Oliveira, is to be commended for their pioneering efforts in taking Public Housing to such a positive direction. For their efforts, they are receiving CVN’s “Cool Project of the Month” award for the month of July.

This Public Housing project is surely one of the most creative and effective utilizations of the federal stimulus funds in the country.
